Raritan

Description

The 251-foot long steel freighter Raritan ran aground on Frying Pan Shoals in February 1942, carrying a cargo of coffee to New York. Broken into two pieces in 90 feet of water, the bow and the stern remain intact with lush coral growth and abundant tropical marine life. The stern has produced large amounts of artifacts such as cage lamps, portholes, and brass fire extinguishers.
