The Monrovia was built in 1943 in Scotland as steel steamer. It carried steel from Antwerp, Belgium. The ship collided with a Canadian steamer Royalton on June 25, 1959. It is located about 13 miles at 111 degrees from Thunder Bay Island light. The wreck sits upright and is largely intact but damaged on the port side and the bow is twisted.
