Lucinda VanValkenburg


The Lucinda VanValkenburg was built in 1862 by Albert Little. The ship was a wooden schooner that carried coal. The ship foundered in a collision on June 1, 1887. The hull and stern are partially collapsed due to salvage efforts. The rudder and center board are intact and broken timbers are abundant. The anchor was removed but the windless is still there. The wreck is located two miles NNE at 54 degrees of Thunder Bay Island Lighthouse.
