City of Richmond

A 250 foot-long steel-hulled ferryboat, formerly servicing the Chesapeake Bay area. The Richmond was sold and was being transported to the Virgin Islands for her new career as a floating restaurant, but foundered in a storm off Georgetown. She was carrying many of the materials that would be used to convert her, and many artifacts have been recovered including portholes, brass service cups, silverware, and other items. She is a maze of twisted steel with a great amount of relief in 18-50 feet of water, now abundant with spadefish and flounder. Portions of her large crystal chandelier can still be found amongst the wreckage, as well as several intact toilets.
