The Albany is a wood sidewheel steamer that was used as a passenger/package freighter. It was built in 1846 by C. Worth, C.L. Gager in Detroit. The ship was grounded in a storm south of Presque Isle Harbor on November 26, 1853. The wreck is scatted thoughout Albany Bay. The keel is in five feet of water behind a shoal in the middle of the bay. Approach only with local knowledge!
